Overview
The IAR Secure Deploy – Prototyping system is a desktop provisioning variant of the IAR Secure Deploy™ high volume provisioning system. It is designed for low volume or prototyping runs before a product goes into full volume provisioning.
Note
The IAR Secure Deploy – Prototyping system takes as input an application product created using an IAR Embedded Trust OEM tool.
Components
The IAR Secure Deploy – Prototyping system consists of these components:
The IAR Secure Deploy – Prototyping application
The software that you use to import product packages and provision the devices.
Secure Provisioning Engine (SPE)
The background service that controls the Security Appliance, installed automatically as part of the IAR Secure Deploy – Prototyping installation.
A Security Appliance
The Security Appliance is the interface between your PC and the hardware programmer. It uses digital keys for strong authentication, to protect the OEM’s product.
Note
Make sure not to leave the Security Appliance unplugged for too long. If the backup battery runs out, any products stored on the appliance are lost. Charge the Security Appliance at least for three hours every three months.
One or more hardware programmers (I-jet debug probe, Renesas E2 emulator, or Renesas E2 emulator Lite)
One or more prototyping boards
For information about how to set up the hardware, see the Security Appliance User Guide leaflet that came with the product.
