The Flexible Application Accelerator (FAA) is a specialized co-processor core used in specific Renesas RL78 microcontrollers to offload complex arithmetic, communication, and control tasks from the main CPU. The Renesas FAA Assembler is incorporated in IAR Embedded Workbench for RL78. For more information about this assembler, see the DSPASM FAA/GREEN_DSP Structure Assembler User's Manual from Renesas.

This section describes the FAA Assembler options for output, list, and preprocessor. These options are only available if an RL78 GREEN DSP core has been selected as the target device, and support for FAA has been enabled. See Target options.
