Exporting Security Appliance certificates

The Security Appliance certificates are a vital component that ensures that the IAR Secure Deploy system runs correctly. The Security Appliance certificates can be exported and transferred to:

  • The developer unit that is creating the product package with the software to run on the devices. This is because the product package must be built to match the Security Appliance that you are going to use.

  • The production facility.

How to export the Security Appliance certificates:

  1. Start the IAR Secure Deploy – Prototyping application, if it is not already running, and connect to the Security Appliance to export a certificate for.

  2. Switch to the Options>Tokens category and click the Save Certificates button.

    This generates a file with the Security Appliance certificate, with the filename extension *.certificates.

  3. Move this file to an external drive or location and send it to an OEM, so that products can be registered against a target Security Appliance or group of Security Appliances for use with the IAR Secure Deploy system
